2011 Family Fishing Day

2011 Family Fishing Day

The 2011 KBF Family Fishing Day was much improved from last year, giving us beautiful weather and excellent conditions on the lake.  We had about 60-70 people turn out and 15-20 boats launch from the Cedar Cove Marina to try their luck.
From lake to land, everyone headed to Darren and Maryellen’s for an afternoon and evening of fun, food and fish tales.  Over 270 people, including around 150 children that spent the afternoon enjoying the inflatable obstacle course, playing midway games and having their faces painted.
Although the total catch this year was greater than last year (which was not hard to beat), several donations of fish “netted” us about 130 lbs of fish, all of which was cooked and enjoyed by all.   After dinner, music by local band “Second Wind” filled the air, while kids and kids at heart danced and sang the night away.
Many smiles were seen on all the kids faces, enjoying a day Kaeden would have loved.  We hope everyone had a great day and we thank you for all your support!
